Position Overview

WHAT'S THE ROLE?
This position is based in a state-of-the-art facility, featuring a structured work schedule that includes extended shifts. Transportation arrangements are in place for staff commuting to the site.

The Assistant Culinary Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting kitchen operations, including the upkeep and sanitation of designated areas, tools, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain high standards of food quality and safety in accordance with industry protocols. Assist in the preparation of food items, including assembling sandwiches and managing ingredient distribution. Conduct visual inspections of cold food items to ensure proper presentation and appeal. Oversee the storage of food products to guarantee freshness and compliance with safety standards. Prepare and organize a comprehensive salad bar for meal services. Optimize the use of food supplies to minimize waste.

Candidate Profile

WHO ARE WE SEEKING?

A minimum of five years of culinary experience in a similar or institutional setting is preferred. Certification in Food Safety (FoodSafe Level I) is required; additional certifications such as SafeCheck or HACCP are advantageous. Ability to achieve a passing score on the mandatory WHMIS test.
