SunPower is on the lookout for a seasoned attorney to lead our legal support for a dynamic team of product managers, engineers, and marketers.
Key Responsibilities- Legal Advisory: Provide guidance on a broad spectrum of product development, consumer protection, privacy, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, and information security matters.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various teams, including executive management and technical experts, to ensure alignment on legal matters throughout the product lifecycle.
- Policy Development: Create and implement robust policies and procedures that protect customer data in accordance with privacy regulations such as GDPR and CCPA/CPRA.
- Risk Management: Conduct regular risk assessments and collaborate with stakeholders to mitigate privacy and security threats.
- Contract Negotiation: Draft and negotiate a range of agreements related to commercial services, data protection, mergers and acquisitions, and intellectual property.
- Intellectual Property Strategy: Support SunPower's intellectual property initiatives, including patent management and monetization strategies.
Applicants should possess:
- A Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school and an active bar membership.
- Over 10 years of experience in a leading law firm or in-house legal department.
- A strong background in drafting agreements and advising on product-related legal issues.
- Experience in the solar, battery storage, electric vehicle, or semiconductor sectors.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.
- Basic financial reporting capabilities and budget management experience.
