Position Overview: Network Infrastructure Operations Engineer
BQ INTERNATIONAL LTD. is in search of a proficient Network Infrastructure Operations Engineer to enhance our Network Infrastructure Operations team. The selected candidate will work closely with the current team to architect and deploy LAN/WAN/WLAN infrastructure elements. The ideal applicant should possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior capacity.
Key Qualifications:
- Expertise in Cisco networking equipment including switches, routers, firewalls, WLAN Controllers, and Wireless Access Points (WAPs)
- Experience in designing and implementing multi-site LAN/WAN/WLAN networks
- Familiarity with Cisco Command Line Interface (CLI) for IOS, ASA, IOS-XE, and NX-OS
- Comprehensive understanding of network security protocols and best practices
- Proven experience in network technologies for enterprise-level projects
- Design and implementation experience in large-scale enterprise network environments
- Integration capabilities between on-premise and cloud-based systems
- Experience working in North American corporate settings
Core Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and oversee the enterprise network infrastructure
- Develop and execute plans for network device installation and upgrades
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for network systems
- Monitor and resolve system issues proactively
- Manage network disaster recovery strategies
- Implement processes for network patch management
- Ensure systems integrity through rigorous change control
- Collaborate effectively with team members and business stakeholders
- Act as a representative for the Information Systems department
This position requires on-site presence at the company headquarters, with a standard workweek from Monday to Friday. Occasional travel may be necessary. The role is structured for an initial term with potential for extension, and the compensation package includes coverage for travel and living expenses. A valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver's License is mandatory.
