Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Parliamentary Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the success of the Parliament of Canada.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administrative Support
    • Provide exceptional administrative support to Members of Parliament, including managing correspondence, scheduling appointments, and coordinating travel arrangements.
    • Ensure the smooth operation of the Parliament Hill Office, including managing supplies, equipment, and facilities.
  • Research and Analysis
    • Conduct thorough research and analysis on various topics, including parliamentary procedures, government policies, and current events.
    • Prepare detailed reports and briefings for Members of Parliament, including data analysis and recommendations.
  • Communication and Liaison
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and other organizations.
    • Communicate effectively with Members of Parliament, staff, and other stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Event Planning and Coordination
    • Plan and coordinate events, including tours, meetings, and conferences, ensuring seamless execution and excellent customer service.
    • Manage event logistics, including catering, audio-visual equipment, and transportation.
Requirements
  • Education
    • University degree or post-secondary education from a recognized institution in a related field, such as political science, public administration, or communications.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in an administrative support role, preferably in a government or parliamentary setting.
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
    • Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide recommendations.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
