About the Sprinkler Fitter Position

The Fire Sprinkler Fitter will be responsible for coordinating with the Labour Supervisor and Project Manager to ensure the successful completion of assigned projects. This will involve ensuring all necessary resources are available and that the installation is of the highest quality, meeting customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with the Labour Supervisor/Project Manager to optimize production efficiency and cost-effectiveness for assigned and special projects.
  • Implement quality and safety controls to maintain a safe work environment and deliver superior installation quality with zero-time loss due to accidents.
  • Ensure the care and use of company-issued vehicles, equipment, and tools, protecting property from deterioration, damage, theft, and maintaining cleanliness and proper maintenance.
  • Submit weekly timesheets to the Payroll Department on requested dates and times.
  • Attend pre-construction, coordination, and job progress meetings as necessary to ensure complete understanding of project requirements and communicate necessary information to the project team.
  • Coordinate with the Labour Supervisor and Project Manager to ensure timely material delivery and project start dates meet project schedule needs.
  • Attend scheduled in-house meetings and training, contributing recommendations for improvement.
  • Assist in developing and training field personnel in good installation procedures to maintain high professionalism and safety practices.
  • Provide technical consultation and support to company apprentices, technicians, designers, and shop employees.
  • Respond to assigned duties and responsibilities from the Labour Supervisor and/or Project Manager.
  • Submit written job progress reports on assigned projects as requested by the Labour Supervisor.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience installing sprinkler/fire protection systems.
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record and no DUI convictions.
Physical Requirements
  • Capable of performing physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools weighing up to 70 lbs.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, and working in confined spaces.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Read and understand construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
