Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled FPGA Design Engineer to join our Satellite Systems team in Montreal. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and documenting medium to complex modules or small FPGAs for various space applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed design descriptions for modules or small FPGAs
  • Support the definition of interfaces and ensure seamless integration
  • Write VHDL code for the module or FPGA, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency
  • Synthesize and place and route the design, ensuring accurate and reliable results
  • Collaborate with the verification team to ensure functional verification and testing
  • Provide laboratory support to board developers, test software developers, and embedded software developers
  • Report progress and potential issues to the Lead FPGA Designer

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in FPGA or ASIC design
  • Experience in writing VHDL code and knowledge of Synplify, Modelsim/Questa, Vivado, and Libero
  • Knowledge of the Unix/Linux environment and scripting languages (Python, CShell, Tcl)
  • Exposure to automated test bench verification techniques
  • Comfortable and efficient in a laboratory environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and French
  • Knowledge of Jira and Confluence
  • Knowledge of the effects of space radiation on electronic components is a plus
  • Knowledge of SystemVerilog is a plus

Security Clearance

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and ITAR.
