Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team at Curtiss-Wright. As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, and winding coils used in electrical equipment and instruments according to wiring diagrams, sample coils, or work orders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review wiring diagrams and work orders to determine wire specifications and coil details.
  • Select and set up coil-forming devices on machines.
  • Thread wire through tension devices, guide wires, and bend them to form leads.
  • Adjust tension and monitor the number of turns during winding.
  • Wrap insulation between layers and around coils for protection.
  • Cut wires to form leads and shape end windings as needed.
  • Soldering lead wires to terminals and performing quality control checks on coil winding.
  • Apply varnish or insulation materials to reinforce coils.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a similar role.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic understanding of electrical components and insulation materials.
  • Understanding of the importance of product quality and compliance to health and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work under the guidance of experienced Coil Winder team members.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and techniques.
  • Attention to detail and precision in coil winding.
