About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team at Maple Contractors Ltd. as a key member of our construction crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted, ensuring a smooth finish and adhering to safety protocols.
  • Repair cracks and holes in walls and ceilings, using appropriate materials and techniques.
  • Mix paint to the desired color and texture, taking into account the specific requirements of each project.
  • Measure, cut, and apply wallpaper and other fabric to walls, ensuring a precise and professional finish.
  • Advise clients on colors and choice of wall coverings, providing expert recommendations based on their needs and preferences.
  • Erect scaffolding and swing stages, and attach rigging, ensuring a safe working environment for all crew members.
  • Apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces, meeting the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
  • Estimate costs and materials, taking into account the specific requirements of each project and ensuring that all necessary resources are available.
  • Select appropriate paint or mix paints, considering factors such as color, texture, and durability.
Requirements
  • Painter and Decorator Trade Certification.
  • Working at heights training.
  • Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) clearance Certificate.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Certificate.
  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
  • Painter and Decorator Red Seal Certificate.
  • Fall Arrest Protection Training Course.
