Job Summary

Ambrose University seeks a seasoned Human Resources professional to lead our HR team as Director of Human Resources. This key leadership role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Human Resources-related practices and procedures across the institution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement HR strategies that align with Ambrose's values, mission, vision, purpose, and goals.
  • Lead the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and retention of employees, including tenure and non-tenure track faculty, permanent staff, hourly staff, and volunteers.
  • Promote diversity and inclusion within Ambrose's community and ensure that HR practices are fair and equitable.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of performance development systems to ensure continuous improvement and growth of employees.
  • Provide advice and guidance to supervisors in resolving employee performance, relational, and/or morale problems.
  • Develop and facilitate training programs that enhance employee skills and promote professional development.
  • Manage employee total compensation, including base compensation, benefits, pension, and recognition programs.
  • Create, update, and enforce HR policies and procedures that comply with Canadian labour laws and reflect Ambrose's values.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certified Human Resources professional designation or equivalent or actively pursuing designation.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
