Job Summary
We are seeking an Environmental Remediation Specialist to join our team in Ontario. As an Environmental Remediation Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing project-related technical documents, coordinating and scheduling project work, and conducting field work and oversight associated with environmental investigations and remediation activities.
Responsibilities
- Prepare project-related technical documents, including environmental reports, technical specifications, work plans, and cost estimates, for review.
- Coordinate and schedule project-related work, including working with other GHD staff, external contractors, and public entities to obtain permits.
- Conduct field work and oversight associated with environmental investigations and remediation activities, including site investigations, contractor management, drilling, soil sampling, well installation, groundwater sampling, excavation, contract administration, and vapour sampling.
- Work on a variety of projects, including environmental monitoring, due diligence, soil/groundwater management in private, public, and federal sectors, including infrastructure and property/building developments.
Requirements
- Relevant Bachelor of Environmental/Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario is an asset.
- 0-3 years' experience in the environmental engineering field, with experience working in a construction setting an asset.
- Willingness to travel to undertake field work, which may involve working long hours, in inclement weather conditions, and in remote locations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail.
- Flexible with project types and responsibilities.
- Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills to effectively express technical information to multiple audiences, including subcontractors, field staff, clients, colleagues, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and be highly communicative.
- Ability to manage your schedule.
- Valid driver's license, with an MVR check performed prior to hire.
