Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Engineer/Scientist to join our team. As an Environmental Engineer/Scientist, you will be responsible for preparing project-related technical documents, conducting field work and oversight, and coordinating project-related work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare project-related technical documents, including environmental reports, technical specifications, work plans, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct field work and oversight associated with environmental investigations and remediation activities, including site investigations, contractor management, drilling, soil sampling, well installation, groundwater sampling, excavation, contract administration, and vapour sampling.
  • Coordinate and schedule project-related work, including working with other GHD staff, external contractors, and public entities to obtain permits.

Requirements

  • Relevant Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario is an asset.
  • 0-5 years of experience in the environmental engineering field, with experience working in a construction setting an asset.
  • Willingness to travel for field work, including working long hours, in inclement weather conditions, and in remote locations.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Flexible with project types and responsibilities.
  • Excellent English writing and verbal communication skills to effectively express technical information to multiple audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and be highly communicative.
  • Ability to manage your schedule.
  • Valid driver's license, with an MVR check performed prior to hire.
  • Fluent in Spanish is an asset.
