About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist to join our team at 13th Ave Pharmacy. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional patient care and providing expert advice on prescriptions and over-the-counter products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain, interpret, and evaluate prescriptions to ensure therapeutic appropriateness, cost-effectiveness, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with healthcare professionals in the community to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Supervise Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians to ensure accurate and effective dispensing of prescriptions.
  • Oversee all dispensing duties to ensure accuracy and effectiveness of all prescription dispensed.
  • Ensure all medication dispensing processes are accurate and appropriately managed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (or Doctorate in Pharmacy) from a recognized institution and registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy.
  • Preference given to those with Additional Prescribing Authority (APA) designation or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
  • Familiarity with the Kroll pharmacy system (preferred).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (including Word, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Strong leadership skills with a high level of integrity and work ethic.
  • Ability to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Ability to adapt to new technology.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
  • High flexibility with strong interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse environment.
  • Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Action-oriented with a positive, energetic approach.
