Overview:

The Research Programmer at the Genome Sciences Centre plays a crucial role in supporting scientific investigations and clinical initiatives through advanced computer data modeling, programming, and software engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and execute computer models for research data analysis.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, test, and deploy software solutions.
• Create intuitive graphical user interfaces for research applications.
• Maintain comprehensive programming documentation in accordance with industry standards.
• Conduct thorough literature reviews and contribute insights on innovative computational methods or statistical approaches.
• Engage in team meetings to present findings and gather feedback.
• Guide and mentor team members in programming best practices.
• Assist in the preparation and delivery of research publications.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of five years of pertinent experience in a research environment.
• Proficiency in 3D graphics, image processing, and data visualization techniques.
• Understanding of Indigenous Cultural Safety and principles of anti-racism.

Work Environment: Full-time position
