As a Lead Colour Strategist for Men's Apparel, you will spearhead the colour innovation journey from initial concept to final production, influencing every item within the Men's line. Your leadership will ensure the timely delivery of seasonal collections, reinforcing our competitive edge in the marketplace while achieving recognized excellence in colour for our Men's offerings. You will advocate for the colour development process, aligning with Arc'teryx's brand ethos, design principles, and colour merchandising strategies.
Meet Your Future Team:
The Colour & Graphics Team serves as a vital link between product design and visual merchandising, enhancing the customer experience. We integrate creativity, design, operational processes, and logistics to execute the Arc'teryx colour and graphics vision effectively.
As the Lead Colour Strategist – Men's, your key responsibilities will include:- Developing, mentoring, and leading a high-performing team of colour designers.
- Guiding the colour designers through the creative process and ensuring the completion of all colour specifications that align with Arc'teryx's aesthetic standards.
- Anticipating colour trends for product lines and collaborating to create cohesive collections that surpass industry benchmarks.
- Designing colour palettes that reflect sociocultural insights, global trends, and regional preferences while staying true to the essence of Arc'teryx.
- Working alongside designers to develop innovative and manufacturable products.
- Partnering with the Merchandising team to formulate seasonal strategies, retail flow plans, and targeted assortments.
- Driving colour merchandising initiatives through effective outfit coordination and article assortment strategies.
- Advising on accessories within our Veilance and Special Projects categories.
- Delivering commercially viable colour assortments that meet efficiency targets by analyzing metrics and insights from various business channels.
- Optimizing colour design across a diverse raw material spectrum to ensure successful application on textiles.
- Managing the colour lifecycle of products to balance timelines with the creative process.
- Building a network of external industry contacts specializing in colour development.
- Establishing best practices to enhance efficiency and quality assurance throughout the colour development process.
- Creating and presenting the colour vision and direction for both evergreen and seasonal collections.
- Collaborating with the Design team on colour palettes, styles, and graphic elements.
- Working with Visual Merchandising and Merchandising teams to enhance customer experience and store flow.
- Engaging with Supply Chain teams on logistical frameworks and processes.
- Communicating seasonal direction with Brand and Commercial teams.
- You possess an Apparel Design Diploma or equivalent experience.
- You have over 7 years of experience in the colour and fashion industry.
- You demonstrate an exceptional sense of colour harmony.
- You possess extensive knowledge of colour theory.
- You exhibit a superior level of colour acuity.
- You have a solid understanding of various materials and a desire to learn about their technical capabilities and limitations.
- You have experience in line development.
- You have a proven track record of delivering successful commercial collections.
- You are familiar with Arc'teryx products and their applications.
- You are proficient in the Adobe suite.
- You possess excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying ideas visually, in writing, and verbally.
- You understand the retail buying and line development processes.
- You are knowledgeable about manufacturing timelines.
- You can adhere to critical paths and established deadlines.
- You are a proactive and creative problem solver.
- You have a keen attention to detail.
- You have demonstrated leadership and influencing abilities.
- You possess a strong awareness of global markets and cultural nuances.
Compensation: The estimated salary range for this position is CAD$105,000 - CAD$130,000 annually. Individual compensation is determined by factors such as job-related skills, relevant experience, education, and training.
