Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced heavy equipment operator to join our team. As an Excavation and Grading Expert, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment, interpreting grade stakes, and coordinating with crew and management to ensure successful project completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, graders, and other machinery, to perform excavation and grading tasks.
  • Interpret information on grade stakes to ensure accurate excavation and grading.
  • Coordinate with crew and management to plan and execute projects.
  • Inspect and maintain equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Perform other tasks as needed to support project completion.
  • Comply with the Company Safety Program to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Organize project details, locate, and performance objectives to ensure successful project completion.
  • Communicate any discrepancies or concerns to management and crew.
  • Plan ahead and be cognitively aware of job tasks and planning.
Requirements
  • Must be able to travel to the Waterloo Region and surrounding areas.
  • Regular, consistent attendance and regular overtime at all assigned job sites.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to communicate and take direction.
  • Previous experience operating heavy equipment.
  • Strong mechanical skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Physical strength and endurance to perform all principal duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to recognize, communicate, and eliminate hazards.
