Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Metal Door/Storefront Fabricator to join our team at Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope. As a key member of our fabrication team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, fabricating and assembling metal doors and frames, and adhering to our corporate safety policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service to coworkers while working in a team environment.
  • Fabricate and assemble metal doors and frames using hand and power tools.
  • Operate machinery, such as CNC machines, saws, and punches, to fabricate metal components.
  • Adhere to and promote all corporate safety policies.
  • Safely perform work as assigned by the SC Manager in a timely manner.
  • Locate and prepare metal components for assembly, following fabrication packages.
  • Handle metal components with care to prevent damage or injury.
  • Recognize and report product defects to the management team.
  • Read, understand, and communicate paperwork and labels.
  • Print tags and package metal doors and hardware for delivery.
  • Assist with unloading metal trucks and freight deliveries, as needed.
  • Organize work area to reduce clutter and wasted movement during downtime.

Requirements

  • Follow all safety policies and procedures as a prerequisite of employment.
  • Experience using and reading tape measures to the 16th.
  • Experience reading and understanding fabrication drawings.
  • Experience using powered industrial tools.
  • Regular and predictable attendance, safe task performance, and adherence to all safety policies and procedures are essential functions of the job.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be part of a team.
  • Responsive to changes in priorities and immediate demands.
  • Organizational skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to consistently lift up to 75 lbs at the plant location.
  • Must be able to stand and walk on a concrete floor for eight or more hours.
  • Must be able to wear company-issued PPE.
  • Ability to maintain composure in a continuously changing environment.
  • Ability to remain in an upright position for long periods of time.
