Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Laboratory and Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor to join our team at Myron Thompson Health Centre. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for directing and supervising the day-to-day operations of our laboratory and diagnostic imaging departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and supervise department staff and services, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
  • Coordinate and organize the operation of the laboratory and diagnostic imaging departments, including the coordination of manual and automated laboratory procedures, diagnostic imaging exams, and cardiology procedures.
  • Perform site-specific laboratory procedures and diagnostic imaging exams, adhering to established standards and practices.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of laboratory and diagnostic imaging services.
  • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring effective resource allocation and utilization.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, best practices, and emerging trends, applying this knowledge to drive innovation and improvement.
Requirements
  • Completion of a diploma from an accredited program in Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technology (CLXT).
  • Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Combined Laboratory and X-Ray Technologists (ACCLXT).
  • Minimum of 5 years of full-time laboratory and diagnostic imaging experience, with a proven track record of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with staff, patients, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff to achieve excellence.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and partnership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and apply complex data and information.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, with a strong focus on flexibility and adaptability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a laboratory or diagnostic imaging setting.
  • Completion of leadership courses, including effective team building and conflict resolution.
  • Experience with software applications, including EPIC, WellSky, e-people, Recruitment Management System, i-Expense, Microsoft Word, Excel, My Safety Net, and Sharepoint.
