About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at the Ottawa Humane Society. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality animal care and support to our team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with medical procedures and exams
- Provide exceptional care and handling of animals, including feeding, cleaning, and administering medication
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyze results to inform treatment decisions
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of animal care and treatment
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to develop and implement treatment plans
Requirements
- Education: Completion of a veterinary technology program or equivalent experience
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care setting
- Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and knowledge of animal behavior and psychology
