VCA Canada Alta Vista Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated full-time Veterinary Technician for our Treatment Department. Our treatment team members are essential to providing exceptional patient care. These compassionate professionals ensure that all hospitalized animals receive the utmost attention and care.
Schedule: Treatment shifts typically range from 10 to 12 hours and include a mix of days, evenings, and overnight rotations.

If so, we invite you to consider a position at Alta Vista Animal Hospital. Our technicians fully utilize their expertise while working alongside our ICU team, caring for patients from emergency, general practice, and specialty departments. Our board-certified specialists offer advanced care in various fields, including surgery, cardiology, oncology, critical care, dermatology, internal medicine, and dentistry, supported by on-site MRI, fluoroscopy, and CT diagnostics. With a dedicated team of 160, including 30 veterinarians, we are committed to excellence in veterinary medicine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment, triage, and care of ill patients.
- Hourly treatments including feeding, administering medications, assessing pain/status, restraint, and lifting; performing math calculations; providing client updates.
Additional Duties:
- Assisting with anesthetics, X-rays, and laboratory work.
- Maintaining and stocking treatment areas.
Required Qualifications:
- Veterinary Technician college diploma.
- Fluency in English (reading, writing, and oral).
- Able to support patients weighing up to 50kg and lift up to 25kg.

- Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
- Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
