The Role

Our Operations Group is seeking a proficient Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) Technician to enhance our team. This position involves overseeing and maintaining natural gas compression and auxiliary systems, including various electronic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical control mechanisms.

Reporting to the Operations Area Manager, the EIC Controls Technician will ensure that all operations align with both company standards and regulatory guidelines. This role also encompasses responsibilities across different technical disciplines.

Work Schedule

The typical work schedule for this role consists of:

Week 1 - Monday to Thursday: 9 hours each day; Friday off

Week 2 - Monday to Thursday: 9 hours each day; 8 hours on Friday

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute installation, testing, repair, and maintenance on compressor station equipment and related facilities as necessary.
  • Perform routine maintenance on gas turbine packages and gas compressor units.
  • Diagnose, test, and maintain shutdown devices, fire and gas systems, and control systems.
  • Install and configure software for control systems.
  • Conduct emergency repairs to fulfill client requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies.
  • Lead and manage the execution of low to medium complexity projects.
  • Interpret engineering schematics and documentation.
  • Complete job quality assurance and safety analysis documentation.
  • Manage work orders and data entry in maintenance management systems.
  • Oversee third-party contractors and provide training to team members.
  • Demonstrate leadership in safety practices.
  • Collaborate with business partners as needed.
  • Respond effectively to emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of a trades program or two years of technical training in a relevant field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in troubleshooting and maintaining mechanical systems.
  • Proficient in interpreting technical documents and schematics.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Journeyman certification in Electrical or Instrumentation.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Familiarity with high-pressure natural gas systems.
  • Knowledge of current technological advancements in the field.
  • Willingness to travel for assignments and training as needed.
  • Participation in an on-call rotation for emergency support.
