About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Trainer Sr to join our team at Lockheed Martin Canada. As a key member of our Courseware Development team, you will play a critical role in leading the development of training programs for our Air Environment Programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop a deep understanding of our future air program structure, goals, and priorities.
  • Lead a team of Instructional System Designers, Courseware Developers, and Multimedia Developers to design and develop high-quality training programs.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for rear sensor and combat operator training, providing guidance and oversight to ensure the development of effective training programs.
  • Oversee the development of training programs using an AGILE approach, working closely with program-level leads to ensure successful integration across the program.
  • Collaborate with the Training System Design team to analyze, design, and develop training documents, including Training Needs, Media Analyses, Courseware Development, Acceptance Plans, and Training Plans.
  • Ensure that training programs are developed in accordance with approved training plans and style guides.
  • Work closely with customer stakeholders to ensure that training programs meet their needs and are fit-for-purpose throughout the development process.
  • Manage multiple priorities and workflows, liaising with interdisciplinary teams and respective leads to ensure successful program delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement throughout the life of the program and champion modern, iterative development processes for the courseware development team, reviewers, and stakeholders.
  • Maintain proficiency with our enterprise development tool suite.
  • Support Diversity & Inclusion in day-to-day activities.
  • Work with minimal supervision, following common company processes.
What You Bring to the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Technical Trainer Sr who can bring the following qualifications and skills to the role:

  • Diploma from a recognized school or military/civilian training with 5-7 years of professional experience.
  • Recent RCAF experience in an ACSO role.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to lead through change and ambiguity.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
Additional Skills Desired for the Role

We are also looking for candidates with the following additional skills and experience:

  • Qualified Flight Instructor experience.
  • Training Development Officer experience or Training Standards staff experience.
  • Familiarity with the Canadian Forces Individual Training and Education System (CFITES).
  • Familiarity with iterative development processes such as AGILE.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification and experience is an asset.
