Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented student to join our dynamic team in the National Office group responsible for Credit Cards, Payments, and Transformation at Royal Bank of Canada. As a student placement opportunity, you will work closely with experienced professionals to support the development of new opportunities and business priorities in the competitive and innovative payments space.
Key Responsibilities
- Work under the direction of a business, product, compliance, or program leader to support specific projects or business priorities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to identify, test, and implement opportunities to enhance products, processes, and competitiveness.
- Assist in designing internal controls, monitoring, and evaluation of the effectiveness of regulatory risk management practices.
- Contribute ideas and perspectives to drive better outcomes.
- Develop relationships and coordinate within and across teams to complete and facilitate project execution.
- Use various data sources to research, identify opportunities, calculate benefits, and make recommendations.
- Leverage PowerPoint and other tools to effectively communicate recommendations to various stakeholders.
- Utilize Excel to manage data, support reporting, and/or identify new opportunities.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled at a post-secondary institution with an interest in Financial Services and Product Management.
- An innovative thinker who is proactive, well-organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership acumen and a passion to apply it in a dynamic business environment.
- Strong critical thinking, analytical skills, and a passion for solving ambiguous and complex business issues.
- Business knowledge - revenue & cost drivers.
- Strong communication skills, including experience in creating PowerPoint presentations for senior audiences.
- Comfort with ambiguity and highly adaptable.
- Strong collaboration skills, ability to grasp new concepts quickly, and work with cross-functional teams.
- Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
