About the Role:
CAMH is seeking two part-time, permanent Registered Nurses to work in the Mobile Nurse role. As a Mobile Nurse, you will be responsible for supporting point-of-care teams with medically compromised clients, supporting treatment and complex care planning, and providing just-in-time staff education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support point-of-care teams with medically compromised clients
- Support treatment and complex care planning
- Provide just-in-time staff education
- Work within a changing environment with inter-professional teams to advocate for and promote wellness
- Ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and ethical nursing care, consistent with the College of Nursing (CNO) standards
- Support the hospital's Code Blue response team
- Provide education and/or clinical care support where required for patients
- Liaise with unit staff regarding patient condition, change of status
- Request/complete appropriate interventions related to patient care issues
- Support the inter- and intra-hospital admission, discharge, and/or transfer process of patients
- Provide follow-up support to hospitalists and staff for patients being transferred
- Share expertise through education for all members of the inter-professional team
- Offer educational placement opportunities to students
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse and member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current B.C.L.S. (CPR)
- Primary Care, Community, Medical/Surgical or Medical Emergency nursing experience
- Mental health and addictions experience preferred
- Computer literacy
- Relevant knowledge, skills, and competence including IV therapy, catheterization, ECG assessment, and wound care
- Strong analytical, organizational, conceptual, and decision-making skills
- Demonstrated flexibility and ability to adapt and manage changing priorities
- Effective decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to facilitate work within a collaborative, inter-professional environment
- Superior written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven planning, time management, organization, and coordination skills
- Excellent care coordination skills with services in the hospital and community
- Skills in triaging patients in person and by telephone
- Demonstrated patient/family teaching experience
- Experience working with diverse clients and stakeholders
