Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Crime Analyst to join our team at Kingston Police. As a Crime Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting our efforts to prevent and investigate crime in our community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of crime data to identify trends and patterns, and provide actionable insights to inform policing strategies.
  • Develop and maintain complex databases and data systems to support crime analysis and intelligence gathering.
  • Collaborate with investigators and other stakeholders to gather and analyze data, and provide expert advice on crime trends and patterns.
  • Prepare and present reports and briefings to senior management and other stakeholders on crime trends and patterns.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in crime analysis and intelligence gathering, and apply this knowledge to improve our crime prevention and investigation efforts.

Requirements

  • University degree in a relevant field, such as criminology, mathematics, data science, or geography.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in crime analysis or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze complex data sets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of discretion and confidentiality.
