Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Building Maintenance Specialist to join our team at the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and upkeep of our schools and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and prioritize Health and Safety work requests and subsequent corrective maintenance
  • Perform asset performance inspections and planning/performing preventive maintenance activities
  • Maintain/coordinating facility compliance activities (i.e. lead/drinking water testing)
Requirements
  • 2 year technical college diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience with facilities repair, corrective maintenance and troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of Ontario Fire and Building Codes and institutional HVAC systems and Occupational Health & Safety guidelines
  • Standard First Aid and CPR certification
  • Working at heights and Elevated Platform Certification, including the ability to set up and use personnel lift equipment
  • Valid Ontario Drivers Licence, Glass G with a clean abstract
  • Ability to use software/technology (i.e. spreadsheets, word processing, web apps, online collaborative tools)
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work cooperatively both independently and as a member of an interdepartmental team
  • Proven time management, scheduling and organizational skills
