About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Muskoka Lumber as a Lumber Yard Worker. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment, and contributing to the success of our busy lumber yard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist customers in the yard, providing expert advice on lumber products and services.
  • Build loads for customers on site or for delivery, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Load and unload transports or company trucks, maintaining a safe and organized work area.
  • Store materials in proper locations or bins, restocking as required to ensure seamless operations.
  • Keep work areas safe from hazards, reporting any unsafe conditions to the Yard Supervisor.
  • Deliver customer orders as needed, providing a high level of customer satisfaction.

Requirements
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions, year-round.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that involve lifting, pulling, or pushing heavy materials.
  • Commitment to a safe work environment, with a focus on preventing accidents and injuries.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills to effectively interact with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently as part of a team, with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Detail-oriented and strong organizational skills to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Present well to customers, with a focus on providing exceptional customer service.
  • Forklift experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Related experience is required, with a valid driver's license in good standing.
