Part-Time Pre-K - Grade 8 Math and Language Educator Needed

Are you enthusiastic about teaching? Do you have a knack for making learning enjoyable in English and Math?

Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. is on the lookout for dedicated part-time educators to join our team at our learning centre. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about guiding students and enhancing their language skills.

As a Teacher/Tutor at Oxford Learning, you will not need to prepare lesson plans in advance, as all sessions are pre-structured. Comprehensive training will be provided on our unique educational philosophy and methodologies.

Position Requirements:

All Teacher/Tutors at Oxford Learning are expected to work during after-school and evening hours (4:00pm - 8:00pm). A commitment through the academic term is preferred, with opportunities to continue during the summer. Reliability is essential, as your students will depend on your support.

This is an in-person role, and candidates must be able to commute to the learning centre. Vulnerable sector screening is a prerequisite.

We encourage applications from candidates who meet the following criteria:

Education:

  • College or Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Fourth-year university students with significant tutoring experience will be considered
  • Teaching certification is advantageous
  • Familiarity with the current Kindergarten to Grade 9 curriculum

Experience:

  • Experience in teaching or tutoring at a Kindergarten to Grade 9 (or equivalent) level
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to facilitate student understanding
  • Capability to manage multiple students simultaneously

Responsibilities (Position Details)

In this role, you will engage directly with students as an Interactive Coach, undertaking the following responsibilities:

  • Instructing up to 3 students at varying levels
  • Conducting sessions both online and in-person
  • Adhering to the Oxford Learning teaching methodologies
  • Documenting post-lesson notes
  • Providing daily updates on student progress
  • Maintaining a friendly and professional demeanor at all times
