Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Operations Assistant to join our team at N. Harris Computer Corporation - CAD. As a key member of our finance group, you will play a critical role in supporting the divisional operations and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of our financial statements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing revenue recognition schedules and related journal entries for software implementation contracts using the percent complete method.
  • Provide support to the divisional VP's as needed, including preparing information requests and responding to questions during quarterly reviews and the annual audit.
  • Assist in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely completion of the monthly financial statements.
  • Review and analyze monthly results and assist in preparation of reporting to senior management.
  • Manage the group Account Receivable team and interact with internal and external auditors.
  • Assist with forecasting of net revenues and operating expenses.
  • Assist in the management of divisional work-in-process and accounts receivable, including oversight of the collections process.
  • Ensure that established control procedures are in place and identify control risks.
  • Assist in due diligence and integrating new acquisitions into the finance group.
  • Participate in special projects and ad hoc reporting as required.
Requirements
  • High level of initiative and energy to succeed in a fast-paced evolving environment.
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Full ownership of work and desire to take initiative.
  • Able to delegate effectively and take full ownership of delegated activities.
  • Strong attention to detail and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in business, finance, or accounting.
  • Completion of a professional accounting designation program.
  • Experience with Great Plains.
  • Project accounting.
  • 3+ years of work experience in an accounting or finance environment.
