The position ensures sufficient inventory levels to meet patient requirements and provides counsel with appropriate documentation to all patients. A key aspect of this role is to foster a friendly, positive, and proactive interaction with both internal and external customers while promoting public awareness and education. Additionally, this position includes supervising and guiding staff, ensuring the financial and operational success of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee and mentor pharmacy staff
  2. Manage hiring processes and performance evaluations of team members
  3. Ensure the department's financial and operational success
  4. Accurately prepare, dispense, and manage medications for patients
  5. Maintain adequate inventory levels of medications and over-the-counter supplements
  6. Provide friendly and proactive counseling to patients regarding new and existing medications
  7. Engage in public relations activities to educate customers (e.g., health days, clinics)
  8. Address and resolve patient needs and physician requests promptly
  9. Analyze and review budgeted sales and net contributions
  10. Identify and report potential sales opportunities
  11. Monitor and control costs within the pharmacy

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and a valid Class A Pharmacists license are required
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on motivating and coaching staff
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a high level of professionalism
  • Proven experience in utilizing community-based marketing strategies to enhance business
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop and implement action plans
  • Proficient in personal computing and familiarity with Healthwatch and/or KROLL Pharmacy systems is advantageous
