Logistics Coordinator

We are seeking a skilled Dispatcher to join our team at RONA. As a Dispatcher, you will play a critical role in maximizing vehicle and delivery efficiency while effectively balancing the delivery requirements of our customers and meeting the standards of the Highway Safety Code.
Key Responsibilities- Receive and schedule delivery requests in accordance with company policy and customer requirements
- Review shipping memos for errors and discrepancies
- Route deliveries to maximize vehicle capacity and minimize delivery time and distance
- Assign vehicles and drivers to routes
- Ensure specialty products are routed on the appropriate truck
- Advise the Supervisor of staff and vehicle requirements
- Review the computer summary to ensure all orders have been routed
- Notify the appropriate department of problems and initiate corrective action
- Assist the Dispatch office with answering telephone inquiries and resolving problems
- Ability to effectively schedule, route, and coordinate deliveries
- Knowledge of RONA policies and procedures with respect to order entry and delivery
- Knowledge of major streets within a designated area
- Knowledge of building materials and related products, current inventory levels, and product alternatives
- Ability to prioritize and respond to situations in a timely and appropriate fashion
- Leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, delegate, and communicate effectively
- Detail-oriented
