Job Description

Pythagoras Academy is seeking an experienced educator to join our team as a Primary Teacher. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational experience of our students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Lead interactive learning activities that foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Initiate and facilitate classroom discussions that promote social-emotional intelligence and empathy.
  • Utilize technology and media to enhance the learning experience and stay up-to-date with industry trends.
  • Accompany classes on field trips to provide hands-on learning experiences.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment that supports student growth and development.
  • Develop a positive, safe culture through actions and words that embody the school's mission and values.
  • Integrate social responsibility and kindness into daily teaching and routines.
Requirements:
  • Possess or be in the process of obtaining a valid BC Teaching Certificate.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in education.
  • Model a strong work ethic and high standards of commitment.
  • Foster a sense of community and school values through student-centered decisions.
  • Effectively communicate with staff, parents, and students.
  • Maintain professionalism through all school interactions and activities.

Compensation:

Pythagoras Academy offers competitive salaries that are 5% above Richmond School Board salaries.
