Job Title: Senior Civil Structural Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Structural Engineer to join our team at FNX-INNOV Inc. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the design and development of civil and structural engineering projects, including foundation, building, and civil engineering design;
  2. Prepare work plans and tenders for new projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery;
  3. Supervise and develop junior/intermediate engineers and technicians, providing guidance and mentorship;
  4. Participate in ongoing customer relations, inspections, and site interventions, ensuring excellent customer service;
  5. Design feasibility and detail engineering plans for electrical infrastructure, including analysis and design of electrical substation buildings;
  6. Perform interventions in terms of surface and underground work, ensuring safe and efficient execution;
  7. Follow up on the preparation of civil engineering plans and specifications, ensuring accuracy and compliance;
  8. Design structural steel and concrete drawings according to 3D analysis and design codes in use in Canada and internationally;
  9. Supervise CAD technicians in the preparation of drawings, ensuring high-quality output;
  10. Supervise structural inspectors in the preparation of inspection reports and repair designs, ensuring thorough and accurate documentation;
  11. Prepare specifications for buildings, foundations, and structural work, ensuring clarity and completeness.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering or equivalent;
  2. Minimum ten (10) years of professional experience in civil structural engineering;
  3. Member of the Professional Engineers of Ontario;
  4. Experience in energy sector's infrastructure, structures, and buildings;
  5. Familiar with building codes and major design codes and standards;
  6. Proficiency with structural engineering software and computer-aided design (CAD) software;
  7. Working knowledge of Revit and BIM software (asset);
  8. Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
  9. Effective organizational and report writing skills;
  10. Excellent communication skills and ability to meet deadlines;
  11. Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills, good sense of priorities, and attention to details;
  12. Have initiative, good observation skills, curiosity, and ingenuity.
