Youth Support Worker

About the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and caring individual to join our team as a Youth Support Worker in La Ronge. The ideal candidate will be a role model who lives a healthy lifestyle and is familiar with the Woodland Cree Culture and practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist children and youth in developing life skills, social skills, and access to community resources.
- Provide individual care and guidance to youth in need.
- Work collaboratively with the Prevention & Recovery staff in the communities, with youth, community members, and healthcare professionals.
- Develop and implement awareness and prevention programs for First Nations youth.
- Organize committees in each community to discuss relevant issues and concerns.
- Participate in developing youth planning in each community.
- Facilitate grief workshops and inspire youth to live a healthy lifestyle.
- Attend meetings, case conferences, and trainings as required.
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 or combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
- Experience in facilitating groups, public speaking, presentations, and writing reports.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to speak/understand Cree and/or knowledge of Cree culture is an asset.
- Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
