About the Role

Gus's Restaurant is seeking a skilled Ethnic Food Cook to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking complete meals or individual dishes and foods, training staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food, and maintaining inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate special events and ensure seamless execution
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to meet high culinary standards
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to maintain consistency and quality
  • Maintain accurate inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment to optimize efficiency and minimize waste
  • Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment
Work Environment

As an Ethnic Food Cook at Gus's Restaurant, you will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on attention to detail, handling heavy loads, and working under pressure. You will be required to stand for extended periods and work in a physically demanding role.

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Excellent oral communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Initiative and ability to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities
