About the Opportunity

As a Research Assistant with the Nova Scotia Health Authority, you will play a vital role in supporting the management of projects within the Nova Scotia Early Psychosis Program. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in the field of early psychosis, working closely with the Principle Investigator and other team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Study Administration: Regularly meet with the Principle Investigator to provide updates on research study progress, process and submit forms to the Research Ethics Board, accompany research participants to MRI and EEG studies, coordinate research participant bookings, contact study subjects to book diagnostic/clinical tests, administer, score, and record results for study tests, assist with subject screening, and conduct informed consent discussions.
  • Administrative Support: Act as a point of contact, provide information or direction, reply to routine correspondence, compose and edit letters, documents, and general memoranda, and attend team meetings.
  • Data Management: Collect data related to studies, maintain filing systems, file study documents, test results, and other related materials, develop and maintain methods of tracking information through databases and spreadsheets, enter, summarize, and analyze data, archive documentation, coordinate booking of return study visits, arrange data transfer, and secure storage of data.
About You

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with a strong background in health science and/or science-related fields. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of research-related experience, proficiency in MS Office, effective communication and problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Successful applicants will be required to provide a criminal record check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search, and assume any associated costs as a condition of employment.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, 75 hours bi-weekly, with a 3-year long assignment.

Compensation and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive a competitive hourly rate of $27.92, with the potential for benefits, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
