Key Responsibilities- Route Planning and Optimization: Plan and adjust routes to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions, using computer equipment, GPS, and other navigation devices.
- Customer Service: Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional and timely manner.
- Load and Unload Goods: Safely load and unload goods, ensuring that they are properly secured and protected during transit.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Regularly inspect and maintain vehicles to ensure they are in good working condition, including tires, lights, brakes, and other equipment.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping: Accurately record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all safety procedures are followed, and that vehicles are compliant with relevant regulations.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Licenses and Certifications: DZ class license, Driver's License (Class 3 or D).
- Communication Systems Experience: Experience with GPS and other navigation equipment.
- Transportation/Travel Experience: Experience with local, provincial/territorial, regional, and short-haul transportation.
This is an on-the-road job, requiring frequent travel and overnight stays. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction.
