Job Title: Electrical Motor Repair Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Motor Repair Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for repairing and rewinding various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to our Quality System.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair and rewind electro-mechanical equipment, including motors, generators, and other electrical apparatus.
  • Implement the procedures of our Quality System, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Test and troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment to identify problems and determine the best course of action.
  • Disassemble and inspect electro-mechanical equipment to identify damage or malfunctions.
  • Prepare and document test results, including data on unit characteristics, operating conditions, and serviceability.
  • Operate specialized repair and testing equipment, including winding machines, test panels, and other tools.
  • Clean and maintain electro-mechanical equipment assemblies, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Measure and requisition replacement parts, as approved by the supervisor.
Requirements:
  • Journeyman Electric Motor Service Technician or apprentice with at least 2 years of experience and enrolled in an apprenticeship program or 4 years of equivalent experience.
  • High school diploma.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with hand or power tools.
  • Understanding of electrical theory, electron theory, and the Canadian Electrical Code.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written, in the English language.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team, handling multiple tasks and deadlines.
