THE OPPORTUNITY
Are you passionate about your work and seeking a role in a vibrant and innovative consulting firm? Ecora is in search of an Environmental Technician to become part of our growing Environmental Site Assessments and Remediation Department.
Ecora is devoted to delivering outstanding quality service to our clients and possesses extensive expertise in conducting site assessments and remediation of contaminated locations. We provide a wide array of ecological inventories and assessments, develop environmental and sustainable resource management plans, perform third-party reviews of development applications, and create comprehensive evaluations of environmental impacts. Our consulting services extend to provincial governments, municipalities, First Nation communities, resource industry companies, architects, developers, and contracting firms across British Columbia.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee and execute contaminated site assessment projects, hydrogeological studies, and sampling programs for soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and soil vapor.
- Conduct Stage 1 and 2 Preliminary Site Investigations, which include historical research, site inspections, and the compilation of final reports.
- Perform assessments for Underground Storage Tank (UST) Excavation, involving soil and groundwater sampling, data evaluation, and report preparation.
- Execute detailed site investigations, including soil and groundwater sampling, borehole drilling, well installation, data analysis, and preparation of final reports and AutoCAD illustrations.
- Engage in field surveys, inspections, and technical investigations of environmental systems to collect project data.
- Assist in the development of environmental specifications and drawings.
- Work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Enhance and uphold quality control measures regarding project timelines, budgets, scheduling, and quality standards.
- Prepare proposals, budgets, project timelines, technical memos, correspondence, and reports.
- Represent the organization professionally while maintaining effective internal relationships and confidentiality.
- Maintain records in compliance with professional regulations and the company's Quality Management Policy.
- Manage and prioritize tasks based on project demands.
- Conduct site visits as necessary for fieldwork.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Technical diploma in environmental sciences or a related field.
- Professional certification (AScTT/ AScT) is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills, verbal communication, technical writing, and data analysis capabilities are essential.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Awareness of health and safety regulations is crucial.
- A valid Driver's License and a clean driving record are required.

- Experience in drafting with AutoCAD and Bluebeam Revu.
- Background in environmental sampling and site assessments.
- Familiarity with Deltek Vantagepoint.
