About the Role

XCEL Landscape Services Inc. is seeking a skilled Landscaper to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing landscaping projects from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of landscaping projects, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Proposal Development: Prepare detailed proposals for clients, outlining project scope, timelines, and costs.
  • Cost Estimation: Accurately estimate project costs, including materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Specification Writing: Create comprehensive specifications for landscaping projects, including plant selection, hardscaping, and irrigation systems.
  • Contract and Tender Preparation: Prepare contracts and tenders for clients, ensuring all necessary details are included.
  • Plant Care: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and gardens, ensuring they receive the necessary care and attention.
  • Trees and Shrubs: Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Plant Planning: Plan and coordinate the growth and use of plants for landscaping, ornamental purposes, and other uses.
  • Plant Installation: Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens, ensuring they are healthy and thriving.
  • Tree Planting and Moving: Plant and move trees, ensuring they are properly installed and cared for.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Independence: Work independently, with minimal supervision, to manage projects and make decisions.
  • Repetitive Tasks: Perform repetitive tasks, such as plant care and maintenance, with attention to detail and quality.
  • Physical Demands: Work in a physically demanding environment, requiring standing, walking, and lifting.
  • Work Schedule: Work a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with regular breaks to rest and recharge.

Requirements
  • Education: College or CEGEP diploma in a related field, such as horticulture or landscape design.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in landscaping or a related field.
  • Equivalent Experience: Equivalent experience in a related field, such as gardening or arboriculture.
