Position Overview:

MPE Engineering Ltd. is on the lookout for a Water Resources Engineering Intern with up to 2 years of experience to enhance our team.

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from a recognized institution, with a focus on water resources and familiarity with design software such as HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS; proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and GIS is a plus.
  • Must be registered or eligible for registration with the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
  • Demonstrated understanding of general construction practices.
  • A valid Class G Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for travel.
  • Self-driven individual with strong leadership qualities, project management skills, and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in various engineering tasks under the guidance of a licensed Professional Engineer or Technologist.
  • Create and evaluate hydrology and hydraulic models.
  • Draft reports, design schematics, specifications, and contractual documents.
  • Engage in construction oversight and general site supervision.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to ensure their project goals are achieved.
