About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Surveying Student to join our team at PCL Construction. As a Surveying Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by assisting in various surveying tasks, including layout and grading, quality control, and data recording.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to day-to-day surveying tasks, including layout and grading, quality control, and data recording.
  • Assist in managing surveying for project layout and conformance.
  • Mark and label survey points and record field data according to job specifications.
  • Participate in creating and maintaining survey models.
  • Understand coordinate systems, scale factors, design requirements, and engineered forming systems.
  • Assist in creating survey notes and recording field data.
Requirements
  • Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment.
  • Understanding basic surveying principles with a practical approach.
  • Familiar with construction plans, including structural, architectural, and shop drawings.
  • Application of various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications, and drafting (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
  • Student must be in a recognized drafting, architectural, engineering, or construction management program.
  • Experience with operating total stations and survey equipment/GPS for layout and as-built purposes.
