Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transportation/Transit Utility Estimator to join our team at Black & McDonald Limited. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing electrical take-offs and estimates for MTO and Transit projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing electrical/civil work take-offs and estimates for transportation and transit projects
  • Estimating costs of materials, labor, and equipment based on drawings and specifications
  • Setting up cost monitoring systems and procedures
  • Coordinating price packages with suppliers, subcontractors, and owners
  • Participating in meetings and site reviews as necessary
  • Maintaining a directory of suppliers and subcontractors
  • Communicating with engineers, owners, contractors, and subcontractors
  • Updating Bid2Win database
  • Developing construction schedules and methodology
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical or Civil Engineering, Construction fundamentals diploma, or Electrical trades background

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual with experience in estimating for construction projects. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical estimating principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
