Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our team. As an Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for providing estimate and cost planning services to our clients, including producing and presenting the final cost plan.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide estimate and cost planning services to include producing and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Prepare Construction Cost Estimate reports at all stages of design for commercial, institutional, and residential projects throughout Canada.
  • Manage estimating and cost planning activities, including taking ownership of and presenting the final cost plan.
  • Ensure that cost analysis, cost checking, and valuation work is managed effectively.
  • Participate in Value engineering, LEED analysis, and Life Cycle costing.
  • Provide input into value engineering, negotiate and approve final accounts.
  • Maintain liaison with clients and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Prepare Mechanical/Electrical cost estimates for all asset classes, and at all levels of design, related to real estate throughout Canada.
  • Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients and report such opportunities to the appropriate line manager and utilize marketing database.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate solid presentation, verbal, written, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCad Navisworks, and/or other related computer software.
  • Good organization skills, ability to multi-task, and be a team player.
  • Good knowledge of all methods of construction procurement.
  • Experience with advising clients on value management, value engineering, and life cycle costing.
  • Experience with key aspects of business development.
  • Good knowledge and experience gained within several industry sectors.

Education/Experience:

  • Experience preparing electrical cost estimates on complex construction projects.
  • Experience managing electrical cost or estimating on data center, high-tech, manufacturing, commercial real estate, or relatable construction projects.
  • Construction experience with electrical systems.
  • Experience with all MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) a plus.
