What You'll Do

As a Control Systems Specialist II, you'll be responsible for planning, executing, and completing control systems projects with assigned customers. You'll perform or delegate tasks as required to execute and fully complete assigned projects, including hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning, and project closeout.

How You'll Do It

  • Complete installation hardware design and software programming using established standards as required
  • Actively pursue additional work through change orders and evaluate the contractual scope of work and the impact of client issued bulletins, field directives, and/or scheduling changes
  • Manage the selection, ordering, budget, and delivery schedule of materials to be procured for the projects assigned
  • Secure pricing and availability from outside vendors and suppliers, mechanical and electrical subcontractors, including scope, terms, and conditions
  • Provide jobsite coordination for panel and field device physical locations and ensure installation is in accordance with Johnson Controls literature and project requirements

What We Look For

We're looking for a highly skilled and experienced Control Systems Specialist II with a minimum of a technical associate's degree and two years of field experience or four years of equivalent related field experience in the HVAC industry. You must have relevant technical hands-on experience in systems design and commissioning of digital HVAC controls systems and the ability to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong personal computer skills
  • Knowledge of control theory and HVAC systems
  • Knowledge of project accounting, costing principles, and contracting
