Job Summary:

The Commercial Solicitor will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and services in areas including commercial and corporate law, contract law, construction law, wills and estates, conveyancing, and immigration. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in drafting legal documents, managing commercial transactions, and offering general legal advice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and Review Legal Documents: Draft and review legal documents including contracts, agreements, wills, estates, and representation agreements.
  • Commercial Conveyancing and Financing: Handle residential and commercial conveyancing and financing transactions.
  • Legal Advice and Support: Provide legal advice in areas such as commercial law, contract law, construction law, property assessment, and insurance.
  • Corporate and Business Law: Manage corporate and business law matters including incorporation, dissolution, mergers and acquisitions, and commercial transactions.
  • Business Transactions: Oversee the purchase and sale of businesses (assets and shares).
  • Commercial Leasing: Advise on commercial leasing arrangements.
  • Immigration Support: Offer legal support in immigration matters.
  • Knowledge and Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations.
  • Client Service: Provide exceptional client service, addressing legal issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other legal professionals and support staff to deliver comprehensive legal solutions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A degree in law (LLB or JD) from an accredited institution.
  • Admission to the Bar: Admission to the bar in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Experience: A minimum of five years of experience as a solicitor with a strong background in insurance.
  • Skills and Expertise: Extensive experience in wills, estates, representation agreements, and conveyancing. Proficient in legal drafting and providing general legal advice in commercial, contract, and construction law. Solid understanding of corporate and business law, including mergers and acquisitions, commercial transactions, and commercial leasing. Experience in immigration law.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and colleagues.
