Current registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN is essential. Basic Life Support, Level C certification is mandatory. A minimum of one year of recent related experience is required.

  • Roles in Emergency Room, ICU, and Critical Care Relief Pool require Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
  • Critical care and specialty units (such as Emergency, ICU, O.R., P.A.R., Obstetrics, Pediatrics, and Psychiatry) demand two years of recent related experience.

  • Proficient in applying the nursing process effectively and in an organized manner to the care of assigned patients.
  • Physical capability to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to maintain composure and respond appropriately in high-pressure and emergency situations.
