Registered Nurse

Island Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our innovative Hospital at Home program. This unique opportunity allows you to provide high-quality, patient-centered care in the comfort of patients' homes.
As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive medical and nursing care to individuals who would otherwise require hospitalization. Your expertise and compassion will make a significant difference in improving patient outcomes and enhancing their overall well-being.
Qualifications: Education, Training And Experience- Active registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN is essential.
- A minimum of three years of experience in acute care medical or surgical services within the last five years is required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Level C certification are mandatory.
- Recent, relevant intravenous therapy experience, including proficiency with advanced vascular access devices and a strong understanding of current best practices in intravenous care, is essential. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
- Exceptional written, electronic, and verbal communication skills to foster effective inter-professional collaboration, cultivate a positive work environment, and ensure respectful interactions with clients, staff, students, partners, and affiliates.
- Demonstrated ability to manage assigned workload efficiently, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines consistently.
- Proven ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with diverse individuals, including co-workers, physicians, community agency representatives, patients, residents, and families.
- Proficiency in operating relevant equipment and technology, including essential computer applications.
- Physical capability to perform the duties of this position successfully.
A valid BC driver's license is required. Local area travel necessitates the use of a personal vehicle for which mileage reimbursement will be provided, or access to Island Health fleet vehicles may be available.
