Job Title: Technical Art Director

Electronic Arts is seeking a highly skilled Technical Art Director to lead the technical art vision for the Battlefield franchise at Motive. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for driving long-term vision and strategy for technical art and art sustainability across the franchise.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive technical art strategy to ensure high-quality and performance-driven art assets.
  • Collaborate with the production team to maintain the schedule and priorities of the team, ensuring timely delivery of art assets.
  • Represent artists in technical prioritization discussions, advocating for their needs and ensuring their voices are heard.
  • Work closely with other departments to lead technology and tool development across the title, ensuring seamless integration and collaboration.
  • Act as a conduit between the art and programming teams, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
  • Advocate for the technical art team at the team leadership level, ensuring their needs and concerns are addressed.
  • Stay current with the latest technologies and research in the field, ensuring our tools and pipelines remain cutting-edge.
  • Identify strategic art resource needs and promote staffing for all technical art roles on the team.
  • Mentor, guide, and lead tech artists, providing examples and arranging training as necessary.
Qualifications:
  • 10 years of industry experience in technical art (or hands-on in a related art discipline).
  • Shipped AAA titles in this or a related role.
  • Demonstrable expertise in technical and artistic direction, and in the tasks required of technical artists.
  • Multiple years of experience leading a team of technical artists.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to take feedback and give direction to a team.
  • Collaborative, self-motivated, and effective time-management skills.
  • Experience working with external development teams.
  • A willingness to jump into the unknown and solve new problems, with the ability to think creatively to resolve technical challenges and limitations.
  • Passion for making and playing games.
