Position Overview:
We are seeking a Natural Gas Scheduler to join our Supply, Trading and Optimization (ST&O) team. This role is integral to ensuring the efficient scheduling of natural gas operations across North America, involving marketing and trading aspects.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience, with a focus on natural gas.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions such as vlookups, pivot tables, and macro development.
  • In-depth knowledge of natural gas logistics, market dynamics, and pipeline nomination practices.
  • Strong strategic, operational, and commercial insight to analyze and optimize business opportunities.
  • Proven ability to build and manage relationships to enhance commercial transactions.
  • Competence in risk assessment and management, adhering to company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, demonstrating initiative and foresight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the reliable scheduling of natural gas receipts and deliveries across Canadian and U.S. pipelines.
  • Manage gas balance recovery, including nominations, production estimates, and stakeholder communications.
  • Support the management of transportation services, including strategy and renewals.
  • Provide commercial assistance for marketing and origination activities as needed.
  • Quickly identify and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and external partners to address challenges.
  • Monitor and relay supply and demand positions to relevant stakeholders.
  • Reconcile transactions within our deal entry system against various scheduling and trade records.
  • Aggregate and analyze data from multiple sources to support marketing and trading functions.
  • Stay informed on pipeline logistics, including outages and capacity, and proactively update the team.
  • Recommend improvements for processes and documentation.
  • Maintain comprehensive process documentation.

Work Environment:
This position is based in Calgary, within a standard 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with potential for extended hours as business needs dictate.
