Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and enhance geological models to aid in resource estimation;
- Accurately estimate mineral resources;
- Conduct comprehensive site investigations and audits to ensure adherence to quality standards;
- Lead quality assurance and control assessments on various projects;
- Contribute to and critically evaluate technical reports and studies;
- Collaborate in defining the scope for geological mining studies including Preliminary Economic Assessments (PEA), Pre-Feasibility Studies (PFS), and Feasibility Studies (FS);
- Promote WSP's capabilities to foster business growth and attract new clients;
- Engage in client meetings, field assessments, and project oversight, often on short notice;
- Perform additional tasks as necessary to ensure project success.
- Bachelor’s Degree in geology from an accredited institution or equivalent qualifications;
- Over 10 years of resource estimation experience across various commodities and deposit types, ideally in a consulting context;
- Registered as a Professional Geologist in Canada or equivalent;
- Familiarity with international and public disclosure codes, including NI 43-101, S-K 1300, JORC, SAMREC, and Competent Persons Reports;
- Proficiency in geostatistics and resource estimations;
- Understanding of mining principles, rock mechanics, and mineral processing;
- Strong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite;
- Experience with 3D modeling and geological database software such as Datamine, Surpac, Minesight, Vulcan, and Leapfrog Geo;
- Knowledge of scripting and macros;
- Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients in a professional manner;
- Willingness to travel as needed for project work;
- Proficient in English with strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Capability to work independently, make informed decisions, and take responsibility for technical matters;
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate within project teams.
